George Stubbs is best known now for his paintings of animals, in particular horses. His paintings were frequently engraved, and it is this aspect of his work that will be highlighted in The Engraved Work of George Stubbs (1724-1806), an exhibition organized by the British Sporting Art Trust. It will be on view at Bonhams in London from July 25 until August 12 and then be seen at Ferens Art Gallery in Kingston upon Hull, England, from September 24 until November 6. The exhibition complements a concurrent show entitled Stubbs and the Horse, which is on view at the National Gallery in London until September 25.
