VizNet rescues research from data overload
Tracey Caldwell
Visualisation centres in the UK have got together and set up VizNet to help researchers analyse and present growing amounts of data.
With complex levels of data being generated by research in science and engineering as well as social sciences, arts and humanities, the visualisation centres are needed to let researchers view the information more effectively.
VizNet will offer technical guidance to new and advanced users and let them share knowledge and best practice.
Centres taking part in VizNet include Cardiff School of Computer Science, East Midlands e-Science Centre of Excellence (AVRRC Loughborough), Manchester Visualisation Centre, White Rose Grid e-Science Centre of Excellence at Leeds, vizNET North-East, and 3DVisA at King's College, London.
