Today, Russia is economically and politically stable apart from the macroeconomic issue of inflation, which the government is tackling with anti-inflationary measures. The Russian ruble has strengthened against the U.S. dollar in recent years and this trend is likely to continue over 2007. The country is experiencing an investment boom, which is expected to continue over the next five years. In addition, Russia now has a full investment grade rating from the main ratings agencies and this will facilitate further development, with the possibility of future upgrades.
