It doesn't have to be Halloween to inspire most international credit professionals to recall some of their worst collections nightmares. International collections can present even more obstacles than those encountered in collections on domestic sales with variables such as political risk, foreign currency exchange rates, less developed legal systems and long distances adding extra headaches. Business Credit enlisted a group of credit professionals to recall some of their international collections nightmares, not to frighten, but to serve as examples of what can happen when things go wrong and possibly how to get through these situations as unscathed as possible.
