NEW DELHI, Dec 3 Asia Pulse - The European Commission will provide a 260-million euro (US$383 million) assistance package to India for 2007-10 towards development programmes in health, education and other areas.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) to this effect was signed by Finance Minister P Chidambaram and European Commission Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson at India-European Union (EU) Summit here .
Of the announced assistance, 110 million euro is proposed to be provided in the health sector, 70 million euro would go to education and another 80 million euro for implementation of a joint action plan between India and the European Commission.
