TAIPEI, Dec. 3 Asia Pulse - Taiwan surpassed South Korea to become the second-largest exporter to China in September, according to a report released Saturday by the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Bureau of Foreign Trade.
In September, China imported US$10.13 billion-worth of Taiwanese products, up 21 per cent year-on-year and accounting for 11.44 per cent of China's total imports for the month, the report said, citing tallies from Chinese customs authorities.
The ratio of 11.4 per cent for Taiwanese products - the highest level so far this year - compared with 11.18 per cent for South Korean products, according to the tallies.
For the first three-quarters of this year, however, Taiwan remained the third-largest exporter to China after Japan and South Korea.
China imported US$72.49 billion-worth of Taiwanese products in the January-September period, for an increase of 13.7 per cent year-on-year and accounting for 10.5 per cent of China's total imports ...
