Maggie Denise Quigley was born and raised in Hawaii, the daughter of an Irish-Polish father and a Vietnamese mother. She left home at 18 to pursue a modeling career in Asia and was judged too short, too ethnic, or not ethnic enough. Her transpacific looks found an audience in Hong Kong, where she landed lead roles in action films and her last name became an initial.
