Calabasase - Countrywide Financial Corp. has appointed Jess Lederman to serve as the company's chief risk officer.
He joined Countrywide in 2005 and served as Countrywide's managing director of products and pricing before being named to his new role.
A 27-year industry veteran, Mr. Lederman spent nine years with Ohio Savings Bank prior to joining Countrywide.
He began his career in the financial services industry in senior positions with Sears Mortgage Securities Corp. and Bear Stearns and has also served as director of an affordable housing organization in Jackson Hole, Wyo., as well as chairman of the Mortgage Bankers Association's Capital Markets Committee in 2000.
Santa Ana - First American Title Insurance Co. said that Landon V. Taylor has been named president of the company's strategic markets division.
In addition to his strategic markets role, Mr. Taylor will continue to direct First American's New Market Ventures Fund, an investment vehicle that enables the corporation to make high-impact investments aimed at increasing homeownership opportunities in underserved markets.
