F uller lashes without mascara -- sounds too good to be true. But that's the goal of two new eyelash treatments, RevitaLash MD and Jan Marini Age Intervention Eyelash Conditioner, which promise longer-looking lashes in two weeks. Though the products don't mention actual hair growth (that would require FDA approval), both contain a reformulated version of the glaucoma drug latanoprost -- which has been shown to cause lash growth. But there are risks: "Used regularly, latanoprost can cause permanent discoloration of the skin," says Miami ophthalmologist Douglas Anderson. Aside from that disconcerting side effect, he thinks the products are safe to use. The maker of RevitaLash (who is an ophthalmologist) lists all side effects on the RevitaLash website. -- LIANA MARRARO
