Differences in study habits, parental expectations and academic performance may explain the gender gap in college enrollment, according to Statistics Canada.
The group looked at 19-year-olds in 2003 and found that 23% of men and 39% of women were attending university. Statistics Canada attributes most of the gap to these factors:
