Girl Gone Wild Lindsay Lohan is a golden goddess of the silver screen and more than a movie star ["Coming of Age," May]. She's like the screen luminaries of the past -- Catherine Deneuve, Brigitte Bardot, and Lana Turner -- and that is why both the paparazzi and the rumors follow her around. I have been a subscriber to Allure for longer than I can remember. When I see that the new issue is in my mailbox, I immediately think, How can I make time to read it tonight? But when I saw Lindsay Lohan on the May cover, my first thought was, What in the heck were they thinking? She is not a good role model for young women. Jennifer Houston San Francisco

The article on Lindsay Lohan was heartbreaking because it was so familiar to me. Her despair is so palpable. You showed a girl filled with excuses and denial who is desperately attempting to justify a life that is not in line with her own standards and morals.
