At Alexander McQueen's fall show, the makeup was fit for a queen -- Cleopatra, that is. Much like Elizabeth Taylor's over-the-top eyes in the 1963 film that almost bankrupted 20th Century Fox, makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury's version had exaggerated brows, winged kohl liner, and Nile-blue shadow up to the brows. The hypnotic look seems to be an effective come-on, no matter the context: Cleopatra seduced Mark Antony, Taylor seduced Richard Burton, and McQueen's models seduced the front row. -- MEIRAV DEVASH
