In his most recent installation, Domestic Tension, Iraqi-born artist Wafaa Bilal created a living room at Chicago's Flatfile Gallery and confined himself to the space for 31 days. The world could see him via webcam, and people could also shoot at him with a paintball gun that was accessed through the Internet. Bilal hoped that the installation would make a connection between the conflict zone in Iraq and the comfort zone in the United States.
