For years, suppliers and users of motion-capture hardware and software have been striving to make mocap a mainstream production tool. The technology certainly has reached broad market acceptance in the 3D entertainment world, simply because of its ability to provide compelling signature motion at a lower cost than traditional keyframe methods--but it was a long road.
