You're on a desert island. You can only take one news source with you. What is it? BBC News. Not that it is the greatest, but it offers a more international perspective, and I was impressed with its coverage of Katrina, which veered almost 180 degrees from what CNN reported. I confess, too, that I like The Daily Show.

Newspapers. Online or in print? I don't usually read online papers. Typically, I will read The New York Times, knowing full well the political forces it represents. But I supplement it with articles sent to me via certain listserves--Portside, for example. Or I like to read and hear Glen Ford from The Black Commentator.

Your favorite blog? I don't go to blogs.

It's Monday morning. What media do you go to first? KPFK Pacifica Radio, and switch back and forth between that and NPR.
