SEOUL, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - South Korean exports climbed 24.2 percent on-year to US$34.7 billion in October fueled by strong overseas demand for general machinery, telecommunication equipment and autos, a government report showed Thursday.
Imports rose 27.2 per cent to $32.5 billion, resulting in a trade surplus of $2.2 billion, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy said.
It said last month's gain was also partly attributable to the fact that the "Chuseok" fall harvest holiday took place in September this year, compared to October in 2006. ...
