SEOUL, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - South Korea's global competitiveness ranking jumped 12 notches from last year to land in 11th place this year, spurred by improvements in corporate innovation, market efficiency and financial industry, a report by an international organization showed on Wednesday.
In its Global Competitiveness Report 2007-2008, the World Economic Forum said that South Korea's economy boosted efficiency in its education sector, expanded its market scale, and improved technological readiness.
The World Economic Forum, based in Geneva, is an independent organization committed to improving the state of the world.
South Korea's economic growth is expected to reach the upper end of the 4 per cent range this year on the back of resilient exports and a recovery in domestic consumption.
