TAIPEI, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - Taiwan's economy would not be significantly impacted even if international oil prices surge to US$100 per barrel in November or December, Council for Economic Planning and Development (CEPD) Chairwoman Ho Mei-yueh predicted Wednesday.
Ho made the remarks in a report on the country's general economic situation delivered at a weekly Executive Yuan meeting.
According to Ho, Taiwan's consumer price index would grow by some 1.7 per cent for 2007 should the average world oil prices soar to US$100 per barrel between November and December. But she pointed out that global demand for crude oil might decrease next year, citing international research.
