NEW DELHI, Nov 1 Asia Pulse - Tbhe government has detected mobile signals of three Indian companies - Airtel (BSE:532454), BSNL and Aircel, and five Pakistani operators along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir, where availability of such signals for receiving or making calls is barred due to security concerns.
The surveillance was carried out by the Army and the Vigilance Monitoring cell of the Department of Telecom between October 1-18 in the entire stretch along the fencing with Pakistan.
As a matter of procedure, DoT will issue show cause notices to the three erring domestic mobile operators. DoT may levy a penalty of Rs 500 million (US$12.7 million) on them.
