Flat-panel TVs with LCD technology continue to improve in quality and selection, but plasma still offers the most screen for the money. This fall, prices for all flat panels are likely to drop further. Here's our take on five new models that are worth a look:
LCD TVs Samsung LN-T5265F, 52 inches, $3,500 * Sharp Aquos LC-52D82U, 52 inches, $3,500 * LG 47LB5D, 47 inches, $2,500. All offer 1080p (sometimes called "full HD") resolution. All displayed sharp, detailed images. The Samsung had deep black levels and great contrast, which gave it a bright picture even in a well-lighted room. It had rich colors, but its screen was more reflective than that of most LCDs.
