Oct. 29--DENVER -- So much for a team of destiny.
The Colorado Rockies saw their magical season end abruptly Sunday night when they were swept by the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.
Boston, thanks to a masterful pitching performance by Jon Lester and clutch hitting, defeated the Rockies 4-3 in Game 4 at Coors Field.
The Rockies, who were making their first World Series appearance in the club's 15-year history, were held to seven hits.
Colorado had won 21 of 22 games, including 10 in a row before the World Series, but could never get going in the Fall Classic. Boston won its second World Series since 2004 and…
