Oct. 27--The No. 5 Permian Panthers trailed for the first time this season. All that did was set up their first comeback victory, and it couldn't have come in a much sweeter situation.
Jamison Berryhill scored on a 2-yard run with 6:11 to play, putting the Panthers ahead 28-21 in the District 3-5A showdown at Shotwell Stadium. That lead held up the rest of the way as Permian (8-0 overall, 3-0 district) earned the inside track to the district title.
Berryhill's score came to cap an eight-play, 65-yard drive that included catches of 20 and 18 yards by Ryan Rumbaugh. It was the third lead change in the game.
