Oct. 26--MERRIMACK -- PC Connection Inc. posted record-breaking net sales for the third quarter of 2007 with profits climbing 75 percent over the same period last year, largely due to increased sales to corporate and public sectors.

Sales to consumers declined, fitting with the company's plan to focus on business, but sales to the business segments saw significant gains, the IT provider reported Thursday.

Total net sales for the three-month period ending Sept. 30 were $456.5 million. Profits were $7.7 million, or 28 cents per share, compared to $4.4 million, or 17 cents per share, during the third quarter of 2006.
