From the comfort of your favorite overstuffed chair, the exquisite photography in this book takes you on a personal "musical" tour of Austria, Scandinavia, Finland, Russia, Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic, introducing you to some of their composers. You'll meet composers such as Dvorak, Grieg, Handel and Schumann (to name a few), and explore the countries in which they lived and composed. Classical Destinations is a book that will be enjoyed by those who love music but may not play an instrument, those who do play an instrument, and classroom/independent music teachers. Its simple, yet direct style of writing makes reading a pleasure; short reading sessions are accommodated by the sectional layout.

The book is divided into destinations by country and discusses some of the major composers that lived and worked there. Included in each section is a full page "At a Glance" high-lighting visitor information about the area such as: Composer Museums/Homes, Top Tourist Attractions, Climate, Hotels and so forth, plus a website with Ill more detail.
