After a year of study, a special panel at Yale University CT released its recommendations on tenure policies at the school. Only Harvard University MA has a more convoluted system of tenuring junior professors.
One of the most significant proposals is the creation of a true tenure track at the university. Currently, junior faculty must wait for a tenured professor to leave the position or the department to create a new position before they can apply for tenure. The new track would put Yale on par with most U.S. universities in tenure standards.
