Canada's National History Society is pleased to announce the following appointments to the Board of Directors following our annual meeting held June 15, 2007 in Winnipeg
Jacques Lacoursiere, C.M., C.Q. Beauport, Quebec
Popular historian, broadcaster and author of more than 14 books about the history of Quebec in Canada, Mr. Lacoursiere has also been very involved in history education and curriculum development in the province of Quebec.
His many achievements include authoring a four volume history of Quebec L'Histoire Populaire du Quebec, hosting the critically acclaimed 1996 historical television series Epopee en Amerique and his editorship of Nos Racines, a popular Quebec history magazine no longer in production.
He was the 1994 recipient of the Pierre Berton Award, and has been an advisory council member of Historica since 1999. Recently he accepted the role of guest editor of our Quebec 400th anniversary issue of The Beaver to be published in Feb/March 2008.
