Facing a non-renewal of contract after 11 years of coaching softball at Sonoma State University CA, ex-coach Chris Elze sued the school in civil court for unfair treatment based on gender and won a jury award of $229,000.

Elze charged that AD William Fusco treated her differently than the two male coaches:
