A Harvard University study of junior professors at 77 universities found that those at private schools were more satisfied in their jobs overall than those at public colleges and universities.

More than 7,000 full-time, tenure track faculty responded to an online survey by the Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (Coache), part of the Harvard Graduate School of Education. It was conducted October-January in 2005 and 2006.
