Women suffer more concussions in some sports than men do, according to studies.

While football players lead in concussions, women athletes often surpass men in sports-related concussions in recent years. In the 2004-2005 season, female basketball players reported 24% more concussions than their male counterparts. In soccer, women with concussions almost doubled the men.
