A former volleyball coach for California State University at Fresno was in civil court in June, seeking $4.1 million for sex discrimination by her former employer.
Lindy Vivas was the school's winningest volleyball coach when Fresno decided not to renew her contract for a 12th season in 2004. Vivas claims it was a result of her advocacy for gender equity in sports and her "perceived sexual orientation."
