Massachusetts's Worchester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) will be the first nationally ranked engineering and science university to make SAT scores optional in the admissions process, the school announced recently.
WPI will join a group of 739 accredited, bachelor-degree granting schools that are test-optional, including 29 of the nation's 100 top liberal arts institutions. The WPI change takes effect with fall 2008 admissions.
