As more women try to juggle academic careers and family obligations, colleges are creating ways to help them maintain a balance. A few of the new programs are:

* Stanford University -- Offering child-care grants to junior faculty members with kids aged five and under. The grants will be $5,000 to $20,000 annually depending on family income and number of children.
