The Patronage Solution

The national government feels that it has to sponsor national and local sports programs, take care of garbage collection, build straw markets, take care of all our social ills and even raise our children. In other words, everyone and every community have to be dependent on the central government for their very existence and progress; and what is the result of this deity-dependency complex on government and citizen? A country mired in inertia.
