Female and minority faculty members find their schools a less positive place for junior professors than their male and white counterparts do, according to a recent study.

The Collaborative on Academic Careers in Higher Education (Coache) surveyed 6,773 tenure-track faculty members at 77 schools for the study. They found that not one of the 16 practices or policies evaluated in the survey ranked as even "fairly effective" by those surveyed. Policies they evaluated included limiting the ...
