At about 5 a.m. on May 23, four young men were about to attempt a robbery of a unit in an apartment complex. Kuamae Keaton and Michael Fripps were supposed to act as the lookouts while Buchkechio Geddie and Torrian Knowles--one of them apparently armed with a weapon--broke into the apartment and robbed the occupants.
Their plan quickly backfired. "Geddie kicked open the door and went in," reported the Fayetteville Observer (N.C.). The noise woke the apartment's residents--Brooks Boone, a soldier stationed at Fort Bragg, and his wife. Boone grabbed a gun off a nightstand ...
