This new exclusively online journal accepts submissions that explore such relationships between music and politics as the impact of politics on the lives of musicians, music as a form of political discourse, and the influences of ideology on musical historiography. The journal is well positioned to accept submissions from a wide range of topics with an editorial board exhibiting broad interests in Black studies, the Holocaust, Elizabethan music, Italian nationalism, and feminist theory, among others. Besides original content, Music and Politics will contain translations of important articles not previously available in English. The editor is also committed to publishing one article by a graduate student in each issue.
As a special feature, the journal will include articles appropriate for use in the undergraduate classroom addressing topics that lack literature. In volume 1, the editor, Patricia Hall, contributes the first article in this category, which shows ...
