This peer-reviewed open-access journal discusses advances in multimedia technology and applications broadly construed, with treatment of music related media including, but not limited to, audio, speech, video, and image technologies. Volume 1, a special edition on multimedia networking, is the first of many planned special issues including: Toward the Next-Generation Peer-to-Peer Services, Collaboration and Optimization for Multimedia Communications and Multimedia Transmission over Emerging Wireless Technologies. The editor, Dapeng Oliver Wu, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Florida, and the many associate editors have extensive academic qualifications (generally in technical disciplines) from various countries.
