CHINA COTTON IMPORTS REBOUND 13 PCT IN AUGUST.
BEIJING, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - China's cotton import reached 259,000 tons in August, an increase of 30,000 tons or 13.1 per cent month on month. Despite the moderate month on month rebound, the figure still represents a decline of 9.5 per cent year on year, according to Chinese Customs.
For the January-August period, China imported 1.66 million tons of cotton, down 45.1 per cent year on year.
Meanwhile, statistics released by the State Cotton Market Monitoring System show that the domestic cotton produced in 2006 had basically been sold out by the end of August, compared with the sale progress of 87.7 per cent in the same ...
