CHENGDU, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - China's burgeoning luxury vehicle market has drawn interest of leading vehicle producers in the world, according to the 10th Chengdu International Vehicle Exhibition held here recently.
A senior official of Bentley said that, in consideration of the growth of population, urban development scale and luxury commodities market, China would definitely become the world's largest luxury vehicle market.
The sale of Bentley cars in China in 2006 doubled that in 2005. The mainland has become the fastest growth market of Bentley in the world.
Bi Shaopu, executive manager of Porsche (China), said that Porsche sold 2,305 new cars in China in 2006, twice the number in 2005. The company plans to put more effort into China's market and has decided to expand the display areas of Chengdu International Vehicle Exhibition to 600 square meters next year.
Other world's top luxury vehicles on show include Chrysler, Infinity, Lamborghini and Harley-Davidson.
