BANJARMASIN, S KALIMANTAN, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - The South Kalimantan provincial administration is planing to develop Batulicin port on the province's east coast into an international seaport, an official said.

"Batulicin port is a natural seaport which can be turned into a strategic port as it is located in a strategic area which is near the busy Makassar Strait and Java Sea lanes. The Makassar Strait is an alternative international shipping lane linking the Pacific and Indian Oceans," South Kalimantan Transportation Office head Fakhrian Hifni said here Saturday.
