SYDNEY, Oct 1 Asia Pulse - Online accommodation search web site Wotif.com (ASX:WTF) has made a A$49.8 million (US$43.9 million) off-market takeover bid for Travel.com.au Ltd (ASX:TVL).
Wotif.com is offering TVL shareholders either 0.50 in cash per TVL share, or between 0.0893 and 0.1042 Wotif.com shares per TVL share.
"The offer values TVL at approximately A$49.8 million," Wotif.com said.
Travel.com.au is already subject to a takeover offer from online travel agent Webjet Ltd, which is offering Travel.com.au shareholders 10 cents cash and 0.23 Webjet shares for each of their shares.
Travel.com.au, which owns travel booking site lastminute.com.au revealed on Friday it had been approached by a third party but said it did not solicit the offer and wasn't sure how serious it was.
The Webjet deal values Travel.com.au at about A$42.3 million.
