Sep. 30--Banning Lewis Ranch, long planned as the future of Colorado Springs, officially turned one day old Saturday.
Developers opened the first 20 houses built on the property in northeastern Colorado Springs to the public for the first time. The day kicked off with a ribbon-cutting featuring Vice Mayor Larry Small, included a Hawaiian band and saw 2,000 people stream through the homes and nearby charter school.
