Creek housing plan up for vote: Neighborhood leaders, council member see little change in project they earlier opposed.

Sep. 29--A proposal to build a dormitory in the Gateway area will be back before the Winston-Salem City Council on Monday, and neighbors who fought against a previous plan say they will be back, too.

Place Properties has reduced the size of the project, and the company has decided not to ask that a 2-acre parcel that borders West Salem be rezoned.

The new plan calls for two four-story buildings and a 4,040-square-foot clubhouse on about 18 acres. The buildings would house as many as 320 people in four-bedroom, four-bathroom apartments with common living and kitchen areas.
