Sep. 25--Clayton -- When lawyer Ernest Brasier was found shot to death at his desk in downtown Clayton last year, baffled investigators looked for anything unusual among his clients, co-workers and private life.
Detectives took note of the fact that another lawyer in the practice, Daniel Bennett, had abruptly left the firm some weeks before, divorced and left the country.
