But in the end, Tim McLaughlin of Colusa cruised to his first SORA sprint 100 championship with a 20-lap victory at Orland on Saturday night. It was his first championship in seven years of racing in the SORA series.
"It felt too easy," said McLaughlin, who took the lead in the 20-lap race on the fourth circuit while his primary competition, Tony Gaoiran of Livermore, struggled with slower traffic and ultimately a flat tire.
