Digitisation improves library services

Information experts revealed at the JISC Digitisation Conference that their digitising projects were improving information services beyond the obvious increase in online access.
Google Books Library project members Oxford Bodleian and Stanford both revealed startling details of serious failings in their services, which they can now rectify, and discussed new service models they are experimenting with.
Richard Ovenden, Keeper of Special Collections at Oxford's Bodleian Library, and Michael Keller, university librarian at Stanford, shared the podium in Cardiff at the JISC Conference for an 'unplugged' and frank discussion on what their organisations had learned from being at the forefront of the Google project.
