JAKARTA, Sept 3 Asia Pulse - The government has raised the import tax on rice from Rp450,000 to Rp550,000 (US$61) per ton to keep the price of the country's staple food stable.
Trade Minister Mari Elka Pangestu said the new import duty will be effective after the state-run Board of Logistics (Bulog) completes its rice import plan for this year.
