SEOUL, Sept. 3 Asia Pulse - South Korean stocks started stronger Monday as investors picked up shipbuilding and construction shares, following Friday's Wall Street gains, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 1.81 points, or 0.1 percent, to 1,875.05 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Shipbuilders gained ground with top shipyard Hyundai Heavy Industries rising around 1.6 percent. No. 4 builder Hyundai Engineering & Construction rose 5.41 percent on foreign buying.
