SYDNEY, Sept 3 Asia Pulse - Engineering and construction firm, Leighton Holdings Ltd (ASX:LEI) will merge its gulf region division with United Arab Emirates company, Al Habtoor Engineering, investing $A879 million ($US716.52 million) for a 45 per cent stake in the new entity.
In a press statement this morning, Leighton said the merged company, Al Habtoor-Leighton, would become one of the region's largest multi-disciplined contractors, allowing both companies to increase capacity.
"Al Habtoor is regarded as one of the leading builders in the region. Their track record in large-scale building projects is second to none and this complements our expertise in large-scale civil infrastructure projects," ...
