The Rime of the Ancient Mariner

The "hydrogen economy" is a Green dream. Environmentalists looking for a source of energy to replace fossil fuels and nuclear energy rightly note that over 99.9 percent of the visible matter in the universe is hydrogen and that our oceans have an inexhaustible supply of hydrogen atoms. Moreover, they point out, hydrogen bums, and when it is burned in internal combustion engines or combined with oxygen in fuel cells, the only by-product is water.
